The Face

The showpiece: your companion gets a real, rendered, talking face in your browser — their words, their voice, one portrait you choose. Not an avatar sticker. A face that speaks.

Rendered by the exact kit this page sells — sound on for the attitude

01In plain English

This is the thing the voice guide told you we left out. A living avatar — and this is it: your companion's replies rendered as a speaking face, lips moving to their actual voice, in a browser tab on any device you own. You pick the portrait. They do the talking.

How it works, in one breath: a 1.3-billion-parameter talking-head model renders video from one still image plus your companion's voice audio. Our server — the door — sits in front of it. Your AI connects through MCP (Claude connects today; Grok works with a tap-a-link player), pushes its words, and the face appears speaking them, streamed to your browser while it's still rendering.

The voice is generated right next to the face, out of the text — which means your companion has a voice even in apps that have no voice mode at all. And because the renderer only wakes when there's something to say, the rent-a-GPU lane costs single-digit dollars a month at normal use.

02Two ways to run it — pick your lane

Rent-a-GPU · recommended

No install on your computer at all. The renderer runs on a rented cloud GPU (~US$4–9/month at typical usage, billed to you by the GPU host, cancel anytime). Works from ANY computer, laptop, anything with a browser. The kit includes the full walkthrough — including the one billing setting that's 40% of your bill if you miss it.

Your own GPU · enthusiast lane

Runs entirely on your hardware — needs an NVIDIA RTX 30-series or newer, 8 GB+ VRAM, 25 GB disk, and Linux or WSL2. There is no CPU mode — no AMD, no Apple Silicon. Cost to run: your electricity. Honest label: our Windows/WSL2 install guide is being verified this week — buy today and you're supported on the rent-a-GPU lane immediately; the own-GPU guide hardens within days.

03What you need

Your own AI companion

One that supports custom MCP connectors. Claude is our verified path — the face plays inside the conversation; confirm the custom-connectors feature is available on your Claude plan before buying. Grok is documented via a link you tap, not yet verified by us. ChatGPT does not work yet — its connector needs OAuth we haven't built, and we're not promising a date. If ChatGPT is your companion, please don't buy this expecting it.

One portrait + a browser

A single square photo — yours, a character you own, or something you generated. Front-on, well lit, eyes open, mouth closed. That's the entire visual input. Everything plays in a normal browser tab, on any device on your network or beyond it.

04What you actually get

05What's NOT in the box — on purpose

No model weights. You download those directly from their original source (free — our script fetches them), so their license reaches you from the authors instead of being laundered through us. Full lineage disclosure inside, including the one component whose terms are free-commercial only under $10M annual revenue — documented plainly, because you can't comply with a license nobody told you about.

None of OUR identity. No portrait, no voice, no persona, no name ships in this kit. A face product with somebody's likeness baked in is a consent problem wearing a feature's clothes. You get the machinery, not Sinclair. The face is yours to choose and the identity is yours to build.

No cloud in the listening loop. The kit includes optional ears and an optional eye (below) — and both run entirely on your machine. Speech becomes text locally. The microphone never leaves your machine: no cloud transcription, no audio uploads, no API key for voice, ever. The webcam’s stills live in a local folder only your AI reads. Both are OFF until you turn them on — and everything heard and seen stays home.

06Support, stated plainly

This is source code, not plug-and-play. The rent-a-GPU walkthrough is the closest thing to a no-code lane, and the kit's docs carry our real troubleshooting for self-builders.

Email us for setup basics — we answer. If you want hands held through the whole build, that's what the $300 / 90-minute session is for, and it exists precisely so this page never has to pretend the kit installs itself.
